Literacy

We have a coordinated literacy programme which allows students to work at differentiated levels as required. Daily literacy learning blocks allow for structured English session which further develop every child’s spelling, writing, reading, viewing and speaking and listening. Students are explicitly taught the skills they need and this is built on each year with increasing levels of complexity. Some of the programmes which assist us to do this are:

Poetry in Action

The Poetry in Action team performed for the secondary students and presented the 'United Nations of Poetry'. The 45 minute show covered 'Poetry of the World' and included poems about nature, love, war, hope, rebellion and death.

Year 7-10 Mountain Bike Experience

On Monday 2 May, Drum and Guitar students participated in a live video feed with Mick Cavanagh, drummer with 'King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard'. Mick joined us from his hotel lobby in Atlanta Georgia. In the 30 minute interview students had the opportunity to ask varied questions.
